Serenity at Summit Detox Center

In a once abandoned hospital, Summit Behavioral Health sought to give the vacant space new life in more ways than one.  Recognizing the communities need for drug treatment services, the 18,000sf facility was transformed into a high-end, 40-bed drug detox center, giving their clientele a more promising future.

The design was approached from a holistic perspective creating a peaceful and welcoming environment, contrasting from the sterile, institutional approach of the past.  Communal areas were furnished with soft seating both comfortable, yet extremely durable.  The private bedrooms were designed with hospitality in mind, providing a sense of a getaway.  Floating glass panels inlayed with organic material, textural stone feature walls, and rich wood tones were selected to enhance the patient experience.
